“Why pay when free VPNs exist?”

Frequently asked questions
How does a VPN work?
Your device opens an encrypted tunnel to one of our servers. Everything leaving your machine goes through it, then comes out on the internet with that server's address. The sites you visit see our address, in the country you chose — not yours.
Why pay when free VPNs exist?
Running servers in twenty-six countries costs money, free or not. A free service therefore funds itself another way: advertising, resold bandwidth, monetized usage data — and almost always quotas and throttled speeds. With a subscription the model is simple: you pay for the service, the service serves you, nobody else is in the loop.
Is using a VPN legal?
Yes, entirely. A VPN is a tool for securing communications, used daily by businesses. What remains illegal are illegal acts — a VPN changes nothing there, and our terms of use expressly forbid them.
You say you retain some data. Which, exactly?
A French operator has legal retention obligations, and denying them would be lying. We retain your identity and subscription details, plus technical connection data: origin address, assigned address and port range, timestamps, volume exchanged. We never retain the sites you visit, your DNS queries, the addresses you contact, or any content. The full list, with retention periods, is published here (in French).
Why don't you promise “zero logs”?
Because an operator under French law cannot keep that promise. Making it anyway would mean either lying or facing criminal sanctions. We prefer to publish the exact list: it is shorter than most people imagine, and it can be verified.
How many devices can I connect?
You can register as many machines as you like on your subscription, each with its own key — a lost laptop is revoked on its own, without touching the others. However, only one is connected at a time: your subscription has one exit address, and it serves the device you are using.
What is a dedicated IP address for?
On the standard plan, several subscribers share one public address. That is excellent for discretion, but some banking or professional services block shared addresses. A dedicated address is yours alone: no neighbours, no inherited reputation.
Will the VPN slow my connection down?
A tunnel always adds a leg to the journey. WireGuard is designed to keep that cost low, and our servers are dedicated. Choosing a distant country, however — Australia from Europe — mechanically adds latency: that is distance, not the VPN.
